Day 16 - In Montreal

bj
Had a lovely brunch with Allie and Mark at Burgers & Benedict, served by their favorite waitress who knew exactly what they wanted -- ya think they eat there often? (hehehe).   Then we ventured on the metro and headed north east to a quaint little shopping street (like our Avenue Road/Yonge street row of  shops we've never wandered up!).  Couldn't leave Montreal without buying anything, so I purchased a lovely scarf!  After more walking and a quick lesson on geocaching, we decided to head back to Allie's "hood" to scour the little parkette near the apt to see if we could find the elusive "brown mushroom corky thing with green stripes".  After about 45 minutes of searching this tiny little patch of green (I wonder what people were thinking as they were walking by), behold!.. Mum found it, tied to a tree branch.   It was a film canister camouflaged with duct tape.  We then decided to search another elusive park near the 720.  After hour of aimlessly wandering around and peering under bushes and grates and stone walls and steel structures, we gave up and headed home.  Mum visited with Allie and Mark while Dad went back for a calorie burner run .... just before ... dinner!

Dinner was a a yummy sushi place; I won't reveal how much food we actually ate, but we were bursting when we left.  Headed back to the hotel parking lot to retrieve Allie's shoes (the ones she left in Toronto), and modelled the ones Mum bought in Maine.

Long drive home tomorrow -- will be good to get home and do laundry!

Spent the day with Mark & Ally walking along St Denis after a 20 minute ride on the metro to get there. A lot of nice shops and Ally spotted her " ring " and bought it. She also picked up the Brunch tab, really nice.

The hunting for the small ' camouflaged' film cannister was a little nuts, I got bitten alive in their small park before Mom found it hidden inside the evergreen cedar tree. I'm still scratching the bites I got and lost count after 50 mosquito bites over my arms, legs, back etc.

Out for sushi dinner at Miso restaurant. Tasted great. Back home tomorrow after being away for 15 days. Way too much driving, next time let's fly !
