Day 13: In Quebec City

bj
Walked for miles and miles and miles today!   Explored old Quebec City including pit stop at Chateau Frontenac, took the elevator down to the riverside, explored some more.  Hmmm.. what did Mum buy today? A sweater coat; a sweater jacket, and a chapeau.  Had lunch at a quaint restaurant down by the river .. SSS .. had yummy onion soup and rib eye burger (which was really rib eye steak/roast pulled, and served on a panini burger.  Seems like all we are doing is eating!

Just came back from Dinner at Crepes Breton, yummy crepes (Mum had cheese, spinach, bacon, mushrooms) and the best was the dessert crepe .. butter sugar with ice cream and whip cream.

Tomorrow we hit the road again for a short jaunt to Montreal to see Allie... yummy

Old Quebec city with lots of shops and restaurants at almost every corner. Plus musicians playing at each square, either a guitar, harp and even a guy singing opera or at least trying to. The Funicular was fun but your mom wouldn't look due to the heights. The Queen Mary 2 was docked today down at the harbour so their were a lot of tourist groups walking all over town with their flags and tour guides.

I treated myself to a ' scarf ' since Mom was buying all of her goodies. I picked out the sweater coat that she bought and I paid for.

Had a great Halibut steak for lunch and then of course Mom had her crepe fix for dinner. Eating way too much food. Going on a crash diet next week when I get home, that;s for sure. Off to Montreal tomorrow and want to get out of the city before they start to close down all the streets for the Bike race. Interesting to see the different teams out on the streets for their practice ride.

Rather than pay an extra $ 8.00 per person for the continental breakfast that they offer here, we are hitting the Timmy Ho's right across the street about 1/2 blocks from our B & B. Really convenient and a lot better value than being ripped off. Not happy with this B & B and I would vote the worst or second worst place we have stayed in on our trip so far. Over priced and no where near the ambiance or feeling of value for the money being charged.  Oh well live and learn.
