Day 3: Manchester, NH to Kennebunkport, ME

mike We left Manchester at 9:00 am after having a great home cooked breakfast of French Toast and sausage at the Ash street B&B. Took a slow twisting route to get to Wells, ME where we were going to play a game of Golf at the Old Marsh GC. Got there around 10:30 am and tried to see if we could get to start early and very surprised to find them busy and all booked right up to 12:00 noon. So we left to go to a local driving range to warm up. It really wasn't more than a cow pasture with a couple  of flags stuck in the ground. Anyways got back to start our game and Mom and I finished playing after 4 1/2 hours. Really slow and really HOT, drank 6 bottles of water during the round. Then to find our new home for the next 4 days. The Captain Jefferd's Inn B & B. A beautiful old place and we got the room at the top, on the 3rd floor. No elevators here so guess who got stuck carrying the bags up 3 floors ? Off to dinner with Chip & Lyn at a local place called " Hur

Day 2: Bromont, Que to Manchester, NH

bj It’s 9:30 am and we are already on the road!  Leaving the bustling city (6K peeps) of Bromont, Quebec.  Darn, I wanted to drive by the IBM manufacturing location before we left; we make chips and substrates here that are sold to computer manufacturers.  Apparently they have about 1500 employees – that’s ¼ of the town population! Breakfast at our hotel Le St. Martin, Bromont consisted of toast, coffee, juice, 2 hb eggs, cheese.  We are now driving on Auto 55 and will hit the Canada/USA border.  Sue, our Aussie gps lady keeps re-cal-cula-ting since we are continually losing signals (we are in the middle of mountains surrounded by miles and miles and miles and miles of evergreen trees – very very pretty; reminds us of BC; long windy roads). lots of lakes and rivers. We just cleared US customs in less than a minute, probably thanks to my pre-clearance through the travelling Nexus card.  We have decided to let Daniel, our British gps guide lead us to Manchester, New Hampshire, the n

Day 1: Toronto to Bromont

bj Ok, so we drove out of the driveway at 8:18 am this morning.  Chauffer wasn’t too  grumpy (I think he was actually surprised that I was up and relatively packed at 7:00 when he surfaced).   Took us 2 hours to get out of the city; traffic was backed up for miles rubber-necking at a forensic trailer (must have been a pretty bad accident) but there was no sign of the accident or traffic on the Westbound 401.  Traffic going the other way (to Toronto) wasn’t backed up too far.  Had lunch at Tim’s in Cornwall.  Meandered (actually stop and go traffic) through Montreal to reach 15/10 ...just arrived in Bromont around 3:30 pm.   Not bad for our first day.  Crazy drivers here!  Crazy road signs: Moose crossing, deer prancing, cars driving into clouds. Motorcycle Parking We must be in Quebec :) mike Downtown booming Bromont – Art Galleries in tents all down both sides of the main drag as they were having an Art Show of local artists all this  w/e. We decided to have dinner at Le Ma

Still Home

bj Tomorrow we start our 2 week road trip!  This should be interesting :) I'm told that the bus leaves at 8:00 a.m. sharp.  We'll see .... first some dinner, then I'd better start packing mike The "chauffer" is packed and ready to head out .. so we'll see???????
